DBR Vídeos de teoría
We are delighted to share a series of videos curated by Dr Hannah Young (coauthor of Deep Brain Reorienting) and Dr Frank Corrigan. These videos describe the theory and concepts underpinning Deep Brain Reorienting, providing an invaluable introduction for psychotherapists, and a refresher for those who have completed the training. Videos on The Attachment System, Preaffective Shock and a Psychotherapy session will follow.
A Brainstem Model
The first video in this series introduces a neuroanatomical model of immediate responses to trauma. Walking us through the sequence of brain activation, Hannah describes the deeper brainstem structures involved in orienting and autonomic changes in the body.
Freeze Responses
In this video, we revisit the three main brainstem structures underpinning Deep Brain Reorienting and explore their association with various types of freeze responses.
Dissociative Responses
In the third video of this series, Dr Hannah Young revisits the three main brainstem structures underpinning Deep Brain Reorienting to look at their hypothesised involvement in dissociative symptoms.
